DUNN — New Century Bank recently amed John A. Mitchell III as senior vice president and director of operations, announced William L. Hedgepeth II, president and chief executive officer.
As the director of operations, Mitchell oversees two of the Bank’s largest departments, deposit and loan operations, as well as information technology.
“A strong operational infrastructure is essential to providing reliable, up-to-date products and services to our customers,” commented Hedgepeth. “As we continue to grow our products and services, as well as banking locations, John will play a central role in making sure we are prepared to support these expansions. I’m pleased to welcome him to the team.”
Mitchell has 37 years of experience working in and with financial institutions. Most recently, he served as senior vice president at First Citizens Bank in the business process optimization department. Prior to that, he owned and managed Integra Systems Group, an operations consulting firm specializing in application development for community banks. An alumnus of Queens University of Charlotte, he holds a master’s degree in business administration in finance as well as a bachelor’s degree in economics from Davidson College.
