Two men were served felony meth charges in separate cases Monday, one in connection with a recent lab seizure in Autryville.

James Edward Holmes, 36, of 77 Madeline Lane, Autryville, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, trafficking a Schedule II controlled substance by possession, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A three-month investigation into possible drug activity on Madeline Lane culminated last week with the arrests of three family members, charged with more than 30 felony drug manufacturing and trafficking offenses, as well as child abuse charges. Agents with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Division started a probe into drug activity reported at 77 Madeline Lane, Autryville, earlier this year.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on June 8, during which agents located “trafficking amounts of opiates” at the Autryville residence and arrested three people. According to Holmes’ new arrest report, 22 dosage units of oxymorphone hydrochoride and 12 dosage units of opana were seized.

His bond was set at $20,000.

Arrested along with James Holmes were Chastity Holmes, 40, of 77 Madeline Lane, Autryville, and David Ray Holmes, 26, of 110 Madeline Lane, Autryville.

James Holmes was initially charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, selling marijuana, delivering marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for storage of a controlled substance, conspiring to sell heroin, conspiring to delivering heroin, two counts of conspiring to sell a Schedule II controlled substance. He also received a misdemeanor count of child abuse.

Bond was set at $100,000 secured for the charges. On Monday, he was served with the additional offenses and had the $20,000 bond tacked on.

In the other incident, a Roseboro man was arrested following a Sheriff’s Office investigation. Details about the arrest were not immediately available.

Caleb Scott Hall, 25, of 11623 Ludhorne Road, Roseboro, was charged with four counts of possession/distribution of meth precursor and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody at his Roseboro residence on Monday.

His bond was set at $50,000.
