Sampson County Sheriff's investigators are seeking information regarding a Labor Day shooting that injured a 25-year-old man.

According to Lt. Marcus Smith, deputies received a call of shots fired around 1:30 a.m. and responded to the scene on Boykin Lane near Salemburg. The location, it was noted on reports, is a bar/nightclub/lounge type business.

“When deputies arrived there was a large crowd gathered. Upon investigation, they learned that an unknown subject had fired shots,” Smith noted.

Injured, according to Sampson Sheriff's reports, was Michael Culbreth of 119 Rainbow Lane, Roseboro. Smith said Culbreth was taken to a medical facility for treatment and is currently listed in stable condition.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Anyone having information about the shooting is urged to call 910-592-4141.
