Stolen items pawned at an area business were the link that put two Harnett County women in jail Thursday afternoon in Sampson, charged in connection with a Greenpath Road break-in.

Sierra Marie Warren, 28, 416 South Magnolia Ave., Dunn, and Shekina Peoples, 31, 416 South Magnolia Ave., Dunn, are now facing three felonies each — burglary (forcible entry), larceny and possession/concealing stolen property.

According to Sampson Sheriff’s Cpl. Marcus Smith, detectives investigating the case discovered that some of the missing items from the Greenpath robbery had been located at an area pawn shop.

“Through additional investigation, detectives were able to find out who pawned the items and from the evidence gathered they were able to charge the two individuals,” Smith said.

The Greenpath Road residence was broken into on Aug. 20. During the break-in, several thousands dollars worth of property was stolen, including jewelry, a television and a DVD player.

Warren and Peoples were both placed under $15,000 secured bonds, and remained in jail Friday afternoon. They are scheduled to appear in Sampson District Court Sept. 27.
