This past Saturday the Lakewood Booster Club held their annual golf tournament to help support Lakewood athletcis.


It was a 3 person team superball tournament.


Booster club president Kaye Heinz said she was very happy with the participation and the support that was shown for Lakewood athletics.


“The Booster Club and Lakewood Athletic Department are once again extremely pleased with the level of support from the community. The golf tournament is always a great time for our supporters to get together,” she said.


Heinz asserted, “Lakewood has an outstanding group of coaches, faculty and staff and the booster club is proud to be a part of such a great school.”


First flight winners were: 1st place, Curt Pritchard, Dax Register, and James Sutton; 2nd place, Larry Baggett, Johnny Baggett, and Jeff Wilson; 3rd place, Tommy Evans, Ken Parker, and Gary Tew.


Second flight winners were: 1st place, Kristen Baker, Charlie Baker, and Pat Jones; 2nd place, Rex Owen, Mickey Fortner, Jeff Gray; 3rd place, Gary Carter, Jack Bonner, and Hayden Carter.


Winners of closest to the pin were Tommy Evans on Hole No. 9 and Jeff Wilson on Hole No. 15. Longest Drive went to Brett Moore on Hole No. 13.


“Lakewood Country Club did an outstanding job hosting the event. The course was in great shape and the weather was perfect,” she added.
