Falcon Christian Academy handed the Mintz volleyball team its first ever loss this week.

The two teams went head-to-head in five hard-fought sets, with the Lady Lions taking two, 25-14 and 25-17 and the Lady Warriors coming out on top with three sets, 25-4, 25-23, and 15-8.

Mintz’ Sydney Norris led all scorers with 19 service points followed by Hanna Horne with 15.

MCA head coach Dan Heinz viewed the loss as an educational experience for his young team.

“Tonight was a learning opportunity for us all. I give FCA credit, they took full advantage of every opening. Games like this can really serve to build team strength, if we learn from our mistakes and I believe we will. We had periods of strong play but we were not consistent,” asserted Coach Heinz.
