The Lady Leopards volleyball team stomped out Neuse Charter on Thursday by winning three straight sets: 25-7; 25-6; and 25-7.

Lakewood head coach Sheila Davidson said she was able to play some of her junior varsity girls in this game to give them some experience and was pleased with the way they played.

“We got some girls on the floor tonight to give them some experience. I was able to move some of the girls that usually play on JV up to varsity during this game. We played pretty well, and I thought our serves were pretty well also,” Coach Davidson said.

“I liked our serving game a lot tonight. We were able to move the ball around, and we’ve been working on serving in the corners, so that worked really good tonight. Just overall, I want to get our girls focused, so that we can finish in the conference as high as we can. As of right now JV is tied for first and varsity is tied for 3rd,” she explained.

Leading the stats was Alana Jackson with 7 aces, 6 digs, and 6 assists. Teammates that helped out were Anna Heinz, 4 kills, 2 aces, and 16 digs; Daja King, 4 kills, 6 aces, and 6 digs; Aleah Parker, 6 kills and 5 aces; Briana Evans, 3 kills; Courtney Mixon, 8 aces; and Amanda Kook, 11 assists.

The Leopards’ record moves to 7-3 in the conference and 11-5 overall. They will travel to James Kenan on Tuesday

6849- 12 goes for the block as 6 comes in as backup for the Leopards.
