The Lady Raiders can put another notch in their belt, beating the Bulldogs in 3 of 5 sets at the Midway gym on Thursday.

Wallace took the first set and the third set with scores of 23-25 and 21-25. Then Midway came back and won the second set, 25-19, and the last two sets, 25-15 and 15-11.

An elated head coach Jennifer Naylor said the girls are coming together as a team right now.

“The girls played with heart and played for Midway, not their numbers, tonight,” Coach Naylor attested, and added, “I mean it was a group effort.”

Everyone pulled their own weight, including sophomores who were pulled up from the junior varsity team. Naylor said they contributed 7 kills. Hannah Hubbard also had 7 kills; Kelsey Pondo scored 11 kills, and Amber Poole led the team with 11 kills and 14 assists.

Cassidy Strickland had a game high 27 assists, and Ivey Parker had a big 5th set scoring 3 of her 8 match kills to help win the match.

The Raiders’ record moves to 7-4 and travel to Trask on Tuesday.
