Midway Middle traveled to Roaseboro-Salemburg Wednesday afternoon for a meeting on the hardwood. The Leopards won the game 42-27.

It was a game controlled by RSMS as they were able to force Midway to play up-tempo and quicker than they wanted by using full-court pressure. This forced many turnovers, resulting in easy baskets for Austin Blackwell and company.

Blackwell led RSMS with 23 points and Malik Williams added 11 for the Leopards.

For Midway, Jake Perez was the high-man with 9 points.

RSMS led 4-3 after the first quarter, 20-9 at halftime, and 29-12 after 3 before finally tallying the 42-27 final.

Coach Todd Wheeler of RSMS said he was very happy with the way his defense played. “I thought we were great defensively and I thought our rebounding was just outstanding” said Wheeler.
