The Hobbton Wildcat baseball team lost its second conference game to Spring Creek Thursday night. The final was 18-1, Spring Creek.

Wildcat coach Dustin Bannister said, “Walked batters and errors cost us the game.”

Reid Justice had the loss pitching. Aaron Townsend had the only Wildcat hit.

The Wildcats play at Princeton Friday night.

The Wildcat girls softball also lost to Spring Creek. The final was 11-0.

Coach Morgan Farroll said, “We played great defense the first 4 innings holding Spring Creek 3-0. In the 5th and 6th innings we had 6 errors. We didn’t have a single error until the 5th inning. We played great for 3/4 of the game. We need to work on finishing the game. We also struggled hitting tonight. I believe these young ladies will eventually bring it together.”

“Caitlyn Stegal started her first game tonight. She did a good job but was nervous. MaKenzie Williams came in and did well. She had two strike outs and gave up 3 earned runs.”

Maddy Roesch was 2-3, Makenzie Williams was 1-3, Nina Devone was 1-3, Carla Sutton was 1-2 and Caitlyn Stegal was 1-2 with a double.

The Wildcat girls are 2-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play. They travel to Princeton Friday.
