Matthew C. Hulen has been named to the Georgia Southwestern State University President’s List for the spring term.
The President’s List recognizes students who have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit and have earned a 4.0 average grade.
Each semester, approximately five percent of the students at Georgia Southwestern achieve this level of academic performance and are named to the academic list.
“You have achieved a level of academic performance that truly distinguishes you in your campus community,” the school’s president, Kendall Blanchard, said about Hulen.
Hulen, the son of Steve and Belinda Hulen of Clinton, is a 2010 graduate of Hobbton High School, where he was in the marching and concert bands, along with the drama club. He acquired several honors while in high school.
He graduated from Johnston Community College in 2012 with an Associate’s Degree in math.
Hulen made the fall 2013 dean’s list at Georgia Southwestern, is a member of the Biology Club and was named the 2014 Outstanding Mathematics Student at the school.
He is both a youth fitness camp counselor and a fitness center supervisor.
Hulen is employed with Cotton Camo in Smithville, Ga.
