The Harrells Christian Academy FFA continued their busy spring on April 8th by competing at the federation level in a number of different contests. The contests were held at Hobbton High School. Eight different HCA students competed in four different competitions, including Parliamentary Procedure, Prepared Public Speaking, Extemporaneous Public Speaking and FFA Creed. The Parliamentary Procedure team, consisting of Amos Lanier, Will Huff, Anna Burgess, Rachel Bland, Blake Phillips and Holden Quinn, placed first in the federation. HCA freshmen Marianne Moore and Will Huff both placed third in their respective competitions with Moore competing in Prepared Public Speaking and Huff competing in Extemporaneous Public Speaking. HCA freshman Jacqueline Madden also did well as she placed fifth in the federation in the FFA Creed Speaking contest. The Parliamentary Procedure, Prepared Public Speaking and Extemporaneous Public Speaking participants all advanced to compete at the Southeast Region Rally at Wayne Community College on May 5th.
In addition to the competition that were held on April 8th, Rachel Bland ran for a federation office and she will know the results of that election at the Goshen Federation banquet that will be held at HCA on May 15th. Also, Amos Lanier was selected to represent the Goshen Federation, on April 14th, as a Regional Officer candidate at the University of Mount Olive.
