RALEIGH – The NC Poultry Federation held its second quarterly board meeting June 11 at the North Carolina State University’s CALS Lake Wheeler Field Lab. Jeff Hancock, 1st VP of the Federation, presided in the absence of President Dan Peugh.


NCPF serves as the Advisory Board for the Prestage Department of Poultry Science. As an update on target areas prior identified by NCPF, Prestage Department head Dr. Mike Williams introduced the speakers and their areas of expertise.


Science research updates were presented by the following faculty and staff members of the department: Lynn Worley-Davis, Kim Livingston, Matt Koci, Ramon Malheiros, Chris Ashwell, Donna Carver, Carm Parkhurst, Mike Wineland, Kathy Bunton, Ken Anderson, Jesse Grimes, Adam Fahrenholz, and John Brake.


The day included a catered box lunch, the University’s own Howling Cow ice cream, and tours of the farm’s poultry houses, feed mill, and waste management area.
