KENANSVILLE — AGCO, Your Agriculture Company (NYSE:AGCO), a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment and infrastructure will enter a relationship with James Sprunt Community College offering its AGCO Advantage Training Program.


The purpose of the AGCO Advantage Program is to train technicians that are qualified to service the technologically advanced AGCO products which are sold through four core brands including Challenger, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Valtra.


AGCO representatives David Lewis, Field Service manager for North Carolina; Russ Goertzen, AGCO Advantage Program manager; Rob Lindgren, Manager Technical Training and AGCO Academy, and Bobby Cummings, account manager for North and South Carolina visited the JSCC campus and Duplin County on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 11 and 12, to assess the feasibility and desirability of a collaborative effort between AGCO and James Sprunt.


Dr. Lawrence L. Rouse, president of James Sprunt Community College, Mark Lennon, JSCC director of Customized Training, and AGCO representatives met with Jonathan Fussell, President of Retail Operations at Duplin Winery in Rose Hill, NC; Al Searles, vice president of Transportation and Feed Manufacturing at Murphy-Brown LLC headquartered in Warsaw; and James Wolfe, executive director of Duplin County Economic Development Commission. They also toured the STEM Center at Charity Middle School in Rose Hill, the vineyard at James Sprunt Community College in Kenansville, NC, and the Duplin County Airport, also in Kenansville. The AGCO representatives were also guests at the groundbreaking event for the building for the JSCC Diesel Mechanic Program held September 12, 2013.


In May, 2013 AGCO conducted technical training sessions on the JSCC campus which brought dealers from around the country including Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, and North Carolina among others.
