MOUNT OLIVE – Grammy-winning, alternative-rock band Switchfoot is coming to Mount Olive College on Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. in Kornegay Arena. The event is open to the public and advanced tickets are $20 with tickets at the door being $30. This is the third annual Fall Fest concert in which the college has brought big named musical performers to its campus.
“When we created Fall Fest back in 2011, we envisioned an event every year that would excite our students and community, and prove that a small school can still have large events with national talent,” said Justin Roe, assistant director of Campus Life – Coordinator of Programs.
According to Roe, the College seeks to bring a wide array of musical talent to campus to ensure that all students have a chance to enjoy the concert. “We’ve had a major Christian act, a major country act, and are beyond excited to have the crossover Christian/alternative band, Switchfoot, coming to campus. I fully expect Fall Fest 2013 to be our biggest concert yet,” he said.
Some of the most popular hit singles by this 11 time GMA Dove award winning group include: Dare You to Move, You, This is Home, Meant to Live, and Love is a Song. Their newest album, “Fading West,” is set to be released in October.
