The Clinton girls soccer team coasted past East Bladen for their 6th win of the year, 9-0. The game was never really in doubt, as Clinton proved to simply be more talented than the visiting Lady Eagles.

Hannah Smith scored 3 goals for Clinton, and Claire Fox, Zoey Harris, Emily Valenti, Alaina Capps, Halla Gilpin, and Katie Yang each scored a goal for the Lady Horses.

Coach Jeff Smith of Clinton was pleased with his team’s performance, stating that he has been surprised by the ability of his young team so far this season. He also stressed the importance of the five seniors on the squad doing a great job of leading the team and its younger players.

Clinton travels to Midway Tuesday for what should be an exciting game. Each team is playing their best soccer of the year.

Clinton is now 6-1 overall, with their only loss coming to the number one team in the state, Raleigh Charter. Clinton is ranked 4th in the state currently.
