The Union Middle softball team got a 8-2 win over the Hobbton Lady Wildcats.

Lady Wildcat coach Pat Bowden said, “It was a good game until the 5th inning. We had too many errors that came back to bite us. We have problems hitting also. Our infield has got to do a better job as well. We are young but we have some good players.”

Cameron Hunter was 1-2. Zayea King was 1-3 with 1 base on balls and 1 run. Alexis Morris was 1-1. Denise Lamb was 1-2 with a base on balls. Delaney Thornton was 2-3 with 1 run. Priscilla Ariez was 1-2 with a base on balls. M. Norris had a base on balls as well.

Union’s coach, Derek Moore said, “Brenna King’s location was good today. The Lady Wildcats tried to rally late but the Lady Spartans held them off for an 8-2 final.”

For the Spartans, King was the winning pitcher with 16 strike-outs. She was 3-3 with 2 “inside the park” home runs. Stephanie Malahias had 2 runs on 3 hits. Britni Register had 2 runs on 3 hits. Megan Gardner has 1 run on 2 hits.
