Josephine Tew, 71

CLINTON — Mrs. Josephine Tew, 71, of 2294 Hobbton Hwy., passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with the Rev. Ben Merritt and the Rev. Joe Dabbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Cemetery on Grady Tew Lane, off Peavine Road, in Clinton, N.C.

Mrs. Tew, born in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Raeford Stephenson and Madgalene Tart Moore and was the wife of Jimmy “Dick” G. Tew. She was co-owner of Clinton Pawn Shop and was a member of Open Arms Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and the Oasis Group.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy “Dick” G. Tew of the home; four children, Kenneth Strickland, Wendall Strickland, Jimmy Dale Tew, and Brenda Joe Treadwell; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glenwood Moore of Salisbury, N.C.

The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton and other times at the home.
