Midway’s soccer team continued their streak of hot starts as the jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead over East Bladen on Tuesday in front of their home-crowd. Midway took the 6-0 lead into halftime before finally closing the game out with a 7-0 shutout win.

“We really played well tonight and it was once again good for us because we were able to play a lot of people a lot of minutes,” said the Midway head coach, Trey Apperson.

Midway got a hat trick from freshman Kacey McLamb, who score 3 goals. One of her goals was assisted by Avery Apperson. Avery scored 2 goals for herself. Manasia Cobb and Kimberly O’Brien each chipped in a goal apiece as well.

Midway’s record is now 8-2 overall and 7-1 in the Four County Conference. They are currently second to Clinton, who went to 8-0 in conference play on Tuesday. The two meet for the second time this year on Tuesday of next week, but first, Midway must take care of business at home against Pender.

The Lady Patriots will travel to Spivey’s Corner on Friday for a 6 p.m. start. The Lady Raiders will look to continue to build on what really has been some impressive play of late.
