Being with Jesus brings nevertheless moments

In Luke 22:31-31-34, Jesus tell Peter that the devil has a desire to destroy him. Jesus then tells Peter, “but I have prayed for you…that your faith will not fail, and that when you are converted, strengthen your brethren. Just as Jesus said he had prayed for Peter, you must know that Jesus is also praying for you. That is what the bible means when it says Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God making intercession for us.

I hope you noticed in the passage of scripture above that Jesus already knew that Peter would sin against him. That is why Jesus also told Peter that before the cock crows, Peter would deny him three times. The truth in that statement by Jesus, is that, before any of us ever sinned and before we sin again, Jesus already knows what that sin will be. This may sound strange to some of you, but even thou Jesus does not want any of us to sin, He is capable of using our sins for our good, only if you are one of those who love God and are called according to His purpose. That is the truth of Romans 8:28.

We must never forget that although Peter denied knowing Jesus three times, Peter more than any other disciple, had spent a great deal of time with Jesus. Peter was one of Jesus first disciples to follow him. Peter was the first disciple to whom the Holy Spirit revealed that Jesus was in fact the Messiah. Peter was also one of the three disciples to whom Jesus asked to go with him as He prayed to God prior to being captured by the Temple guards.

Luke 22:39-43 tells us that Jesus asked God three times to, “remove this cup from me.” The cup represents the sins of the world and the subsequent wrath of God that would follow. In other words, Jesus was asking God not to allow Him to die on the cross for the sins of the world. After every requests, Jesus followed with, “NEVERTHELESS, not by will be done but your will be done.”

The word Nevertheless means, “In spite of.” In spite of knowing, He would have to suffer like no man has suffered, Jesus was telling God, I will do what you want me to do. In spite of knowing He would be despised and rejected of men, Jesus was telling God, I will do what you want me to do. In spite of knowing I will die a painful death on the cross, I will do what you want me to do.

For any believer, who spends time with Jesus, He will eventually lead you to a Nevertheless moment.

In Acts chapter 4 we find Peter and John healing a lame man through the name of Jesus Christ. Those in the temple who saw this looked upon Peter and John as if they had healed this lame man. Thus Peter was at the crossroads of a Nevertheless Moment. Instead of taking credit for healing the man because of their power, or their holiness, or their anointing, Peter boldly proclaimed the man was healed by faith in the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

Peter’s boldness would eventually lead to both he and John being placed in jail overnight. The next morning Peter and John found themselves in front of the same “Church Folk”

who had condemned and crucified Jesus. Peter once again stood up with boldness, in spite of knowing his life was on the line, he told the religious leaders, “that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, and who God has raised from the dead , it is by him, that this {lame} man stands here whole.” Then Peter made another bold statement with his life on the line. He said, “This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Instead of denying Christ, Peter was now witnessing for Christ in front of the ones who had condemned Christ. This was a nevertheless moment

Please allow me to inject a spiritual truth that most believers are not aware of or have never been taught. When you are born again, there will be another resurrection that you will experience before you experience being raised from the dead. When you are born again there will be something else inside of you that will rise from the dead. And what will rise from the dead inside of you is a spirit of boldness. And the more time you spend with Christ, the more the spirit of boldness will manifest itself.

Acts 4:13 tells us that the first thing the religious leaders noticed about Peter and John was their boldness and they perceived that neither one of them were trained or educated men. But they did take knowledge of the fact that they had been with Jesus.

I am writing this article to tell the Body of Christ, that the Spirit of the Lord is saying, that in today’s Body of Christ, there are too many church leaders who are not spending enough time with Jesus so that the Spirit of Boldness inside of them can manifest itself!

The reason why the church of today is not leading the charge for more stricter gun laws in this country is because the church is not spending enough time with Jesus so that the Spirit of Boldness can stand up to the NRA and Man’s so called 2nd Amendment.

The reason why the church of today is not strongly speaking out against SAME-SEX MARRIAGES is because the church is not spending enough time with Jesus so that the Spirit of Boldness can manifest itself to a point where the Body of Christ can stand up to political correctness and stand on the Word of God.

The reason why the church of today is not strongly calling for the IMMEDIATE DESTRUCTION OF ISIS is because the church is not spending enough time with Jesus so that the Spirit of Boldness can manifest itself against Radical Islam who is the enemy of all believers.

The reason why the church of today is not leading the charge for the United States of America to stand on the Word of God, instead of standing on the Constitution, is because the church is not, again, spending enough time with Jesus, so that the Spirit of Boldness inside the church, can manifest itself against a political system that pays more attention to what political parties stand for instead of what God stands for.

If enough believers spend enough time with Jesus, it will bring this nation to a nevertheless moment. whereby as a nation, we will truly say, FOR GOD I LIVE AND FOR GOD I DIE. THAT IS WHAT WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!
