Banquets, homecomings planned at area churches

On Thursday, Oct.15-16, at 7:30 p.m., the conclusion of Pastor Louise Royal’s 11th anniversary celebration will be held at Jackson Grove Bible Church of God, Midway. The guest speaker is Bishop Glenn Van of New Beginning Church, Clinton. Different choirs will participate each night.

On Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m., Prophetic Service will be held at The New Church of Christ, Faison. The guest is Prophet Michael Norris, choir and congregation of First Love Ministry, Raleigh.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., The Friendly Trio and Church Association will give out food bags, at The Friendly Community Center in Clinton. All are welcome.FMI call Brother Charles Strickland at 910-590-4925.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, at 12 a.m. till 5 p.m. Fall Festival will be held at Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Autryville. There will be plenty of food and different activities for kids and adults.

On Saturday, Oct.17, at 6 p.m., Greater Six Runs Missionary Baptist Church, Turkey, will present a gospel play called Heaven or Hell.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m., Western Assembly Disciples of Christ Churches Appreciation Banquet honoring the 38 years of service of Bishop Charles James Williams Sr. will be held at the Sampson County Agri-Expo Center, Clinton. On Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m., Union Grove Church of Christ, Clinton, will hold Holy Communion Service. Everyone is asked to wear white attire.

On Sunday,Oct. 18, from 10 a.m till 11 a.m., The Hour Of Power will attend at Mary Gran Nursing Home, Clinton. Pastor Butts of Restored For A Purpose Church, Clinton is the presider. The guest speaker, the Rev. Faison of Trinity United Freewill Holiness Church, Clinton will minister the word and the Hodges Sisters of Clinton, will render the music.

On Sunday,Oct. 18, at 10:30 a.m. Turkey Baptist Church, Turkey will observe their 107th Harvest Day. The sermon title is: Leaving A Legacy. The pastor, Dr. Ron Bryan, will minister the word and the church choir will render the music. The church is located at 144 W.Faison St., Turkey.

On Sunday, Oct.18, at 11 a.m. Homecoming will be observed at Union Grove Church of Christ, Clinton. Dinner will be served after morning service. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker is Bishop Varnie N. Fullwood, choir and congregation of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. Asking everyone to come as you are, dress comfortably. On Sunday, Oct.18, at 11 a.m., the 46th Pastoral Anniversary for Bishop James Leftdwige of Union Star Freewill Baptist Church, Clinton, will be held. The guest minister is Bishop Elect Arinzor Blue of Faith Temple #1 Freewill Baptist Church, East Orange, NJ. accompanied by his choir of Wilson. Dinner will be served following the morning service.

On Sunday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. White Oak Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton will celebrate their pastor’s anniversary for pastor Bishop Dr. Charles J. William Sr. The guest speaker is Elder Terrell Powell, choir and congregation of Holly Grove Church of Christ,Clinton.

On Sunday, Oct.18, at 11 a.m. Homecoming will be observed at Little Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. Minister Barabra Smith, will minister the word, and the adult choir will render the music.Dinner will be served following the morning service.

At 3 p.m. the guest speaker is the Rev. Carolyn Bennett, choir and congregation of First Missionary Baptist Church, Roseboro.

On Sunday, Oct.18, at 11 a.m., Homecoming will be observed at Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, Clinton.

The guest speaker, Elder Patrick O. Stewart of Jackson Grove Bible Church of God, Midway, will minister the word, and Olivet mass choir will render the music. Dinner will be served following the service.

On Sunday, Oct.18, at 11 a.m., Beaver Dam Missionary Baptist Church, on Odom Road in Clinton, will observe their 132th Anniversary/Homecoming Services. The guest speaker is the Rev. Jeremy Jones of Knightdale. Beaver Dam mass choir will render the music. Dinner will be served immediately after the morning service. At 3 p.m.the guest speaker for the evening, is pastor Henry Hines, choir and congregation of St.Thomas AME Zion Church of Roseboro. On Sunday, Oct. 18, at 11:30 a.m., Wilson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Turkey, will celebrate their 145th Homecoming Service.Pastor Wendell Newton will minister the word, and the senior choir will render the music. Dinner will be served immediately following the service.

On Sunday, Oct.18, at 3 p.m., service will be held at St. Stephens Holiness Church, Turkey. The guest speaker is Elder Eddie Parker, choir and congregation of Mingle Hill Disciples of Christ Church, Salemburg.

On Sunday, Oct.18, at 4 p.m. Pastor Ruby T. Boykin, choir and congregation of Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, Clinton, will be the guest speaker at the New Testament Holiness Church, Boliva.

On Sunday, Oct.18, at 4 p.m., Pastor Jeffery B.White, choir and congregation, are invited to Burning Bush Church Anniversary, Fayetteville.

On Sunday, Oct. 18, at 6 p.m. The Friendly Trio, will host a Musical Gospel Train Service. The theme is: Let Your Work Speak For You. On Wednesday, Oct.21-23, at 7:30 p.m., Homecoming Revival will be held at St. Jude United Holy Church, Clinton. On Wednesday, Oct.21-23, at 7:30 p.m., Fall Revival will be held at Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. Leslie Morrisey, choir and congregation of Greater Six Runs Missionary Baptist Church, Turkey. Ending on Sunday, Nov.1, at 11 a.m. The guest speaker is the Rev. James A. Davis of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Appreciation dinner will be served following the morning service. At 3 p.m. the guest speaker is the Rev. Louie Boykin, choir and congregation of Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Elizebethtown.

On Saturday, Oct.31, at 4 p.m. till 6 p.m., Annual Harvest Day, will be held at Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton.Different activities for kids and adults.

On Sunday, November 1, at 3 p.m, Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, will celebrate their Senior Choir Anniversary.There will be several musicial guests on the program.

On Sunday, Nov. 1, at 4 p.m.(doors open at 3 p.m.), the Fall Gospel Concert, featuring special guest “Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC’s. More musical guests will appear on the program. Held at the Sampson County Agri-Expo Center on Warsaw Road, Clinton. FMI call 252-363-5406.
