Sampson Middle School blew by their visitors from the north last week, defeating Hobbton Middle’s Wildcats 24-0.
It was an effort led by Chris Williams who played, coaches said, strong offense and defense throughout the game.
Williams hit pay dirt early on, getting a touchdown off a 4-yard run into the end zone. The 2-point conversion was good to put Sampson up 8-0.
The young Horses, coach Tracy Thornton said, played good defense, holding their opponents scoreless and adding a safety to end the first half ahead 10-0.
In the third quarter Williams ran for 40 yards and another TD, with D. Autry getting the 2-point conversion.
Williams made it into the end zone a third time before the quarter ended on a 3-yard run to give the Horses a 24-0 lead and the eventual win.
Sampson plays at home Wednesday night against the visitors from Midway Middle.
