Reception, silent auction will kick off this year’s event

Members of the Sampson Community College Foundation have recently announced the 11th Sampson Classic that will be played in memory of dear friend and patron William M. Johnson, Jr. The event will kick-off with a reception and silent auction Thursday night, Nov. 7, from 6-8 p.m., at Coharie Country Club. Golf will be played the next morning, Friday, Nov. 8 8 with a four-man super ball format.


Registration starts at 9 a.m.with breakfast sponsored by McDonalds. All groups tee off at 10 a.m., and the awards ceremony will follow the round. Flight winners will receive prizes, and all registered participants will be eligible for assorted door prizes. Century Link is sponsoring the “Closest to the Pin” and the “Longest Drive” contests, and GO Automotive will donate a car to the lucky golfer that makes a “Hole in One.”
