The Union Spartans faced Wallace-Rose Hill on Monday night. The Bulldogs took home the win with a final score of 9-0.

Union managed to brave the cold throughout the night as they showed dedication to their team and the true love for the game.

Josh Rackley, Union’s head coach, said “Plain and simple we just have to put the bat on the ball. We haven’t played a complete game yet, and we are a good baseball team. Either one night we hit the ball well, but don’t play defense or vice versa. That’s pretty much it, we just have to hit the ball.”

For the Spartans, Tyler Matthis pitched 3 innings, gave up 6 runs, 4 strikeouts; Cody Preddy went 2/3rd of an inning, gave up 3 runs, with 4 strikeouts; Justin Kornegay pitched 1 1/3rd inning; Dustin Alphin had 1 hit.

Union hosts West Bladen on Wednesday, and they now hold a 0-3 conference record.
