Union girls’ soccer came just out of reach of the win on Monday night as they played Wallace-Rose Hill. The final score was 2-1.

With the dropping temperatures, the Spartans still charged on against the Bulldogs. With multiple blocked shots from Wallace, the Spartans were able to keep the game close. There is no doubt of how much heart and dedication each player has for this sport.

Coach Jonathan Taylor, Union’s head soccer coach, said “I thought we started slow tonight. We got out on the field, and let them beat us to some balls early on. I was really proud of the effort. We had multiple shots there at the end to try to tie but we just couldn’t slip one into the net.”

Spartan, Paola Seville scored the goal, with an assist from Brianna Fredrick.

Union plays at home field against West Bladen. They are now 3-4 overall, and 1-2 in the conference.
