Harrells Christian Academy took care of business in traveling to Coastal Christian Academy, as they won in convincing fashion, 12-1.
The Crusaders were hot at the plate, and good pitching and defense allowed them to win the game early, in 6 innings, due to the ten-run mercy rule.
Harrells scored 5 runs in the 2nd inning, a run in the 3rd, and 3 in both the 4th and 5th innings. Coastal Christian scored their lone run in the 4th inning.
It was a trio on the mound for HCA of Joseph Phaneuf, Mike Smith, and Ben Prestage. They allowed 2 hits total, and struck out 7 batters. Phaneuf was the winning pitcher.
Offensively, the Crusaders exploded for a great hitting exhibition. Rooks Wells led the way, going a perfect 3-3, with a run scored and 4 RBI. Spencer Cooke went 1-3 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs, and was walked once, Joseph Phaneuf, Cory Sutton, and Hayden Parks each had 2 hits, Luke Quinn and Justin Smith were each 1-2 with an RBI, and Zack Batts went 1-3 with an RBI.
The Crusaders are back in action Friday, and look to keep their impressive play going. HCA definitely seems to be firing on all cylinders as of right now.
