Hobbton gained the win on the softball field Thursday night as the Leopards fell short. The final score was 7-3.

For the Leopards, Madison Tart pitched 3 innings. She gave away 3 runs, had 2 strikeouts, 7 hits, and 2 walks. Amanda Bowden pitched 1 1/3rd innings with 1 strikeout, and gave up 4 runs. Sabra Knowles finished out the game giving up 3 hits, and 1 strikeout.

Dave Yarsheski, Lakewood’s head coach, said “We had better defense tonight. Hobbton really put the bat on the ball, so did we, but they just got more runs tonight. We couldn’t get ahead enough, and it made us fall short.”

For Lakewood’s batting, Ashton Hairr was 2-4; Anna Heinz had a walk; Madison Tart went 1-3, with a triple; Alyssa Horn went 1-3; Amanda Bowden went 1-2, with a walk.

The Leopards are now 3-7 overall and 0-6 in the conference. Lakewood will be at North Duplin on Tuesday.
