The Ladkewood girls’ soccer team brought home the win from Hobbton’s home field on Thursday night. The final score was 1-0.

Jay Faircloth, Lakewood’s head coach said, “This was the game I had been waiting for. It was literally almost perfect. Hobbton is a really good team, but I knew how hard my girls had worked out there on that field. I knew my girls were tired from our last game the practice from yesterday but they did not quit. Our defense was absolutely great tonight as well. Everyone played their positions and they played it right. They fought so hard, and this team has been improving. I have been coaching for a very long time, and I don’t think I have ever been so proud of one of my teams. I am so happy with just how outstanding this game was tonight. I can’t be more proud of my team.”

Jessica Espinoza had the goal for Lakewood, and Ashley Smith had a shutout.

Lakewood is now 2-4 in the conference, and they travel to Midway on Thursday.
