Union’s girls soccer team earned their fourth consecutive victory with a 4-2 win at West Bladen Wednesday evening. Union lead early 2-0 before allowing the Knights to tie the game back up at 2 at halftime.
Union then scored their final 2 goals in the last 20 minutes of the game to put away the home team. Daisy Flores set the tone for Union scoring 2 goals, Blanca Herrera scored a goal, and it wouldn’t be Union soccer without a goal by Paola Seville. Seville a goal in yet another game against the Knights.
Coach Johnathan Taylor was happy with his team’s play, commenting on how it was a team effort and how they stayed composed throughout the ups and downs of the game.
Union’s toughest stretch of the season is next week as they play Clinton and Midway. Clinton is one of the best teams in the state and Midway a very talented group as well. Coach Taylor says he is excited to see how his team will perform against the top-notch competition.
