Clinton’s Lady Dark Horse soccer team put their perfect conference record on the line against Wallace-Rose Hill on Friday night in their final regular season home game of the 2014 campaign. The Lady Horses celebrated Senior Night early in the contest when Senior, Ana Jaramillo sent a slow roller past the Bulldog goalie for the first goal at the three minute mark of the first half. Clinton would find the goal 5 more times in the first half to take a 6-0 lead into the halftime break.

The second half of the match featured more of the same with the Lady Horses controlling the ball almost exclusively, rarely allowing the ball to cross onto their half of the field. Clinton finished off the Lady Bulldogs when Halla Gilpin fired in her second goal of the night to give Clinton their final margin of victory at the 62:09 mark.

Hannah Smith led the offensive attack for Clinton with 3 goals and an assist, Halla Gilpin added two goals and an assist. Ana Jaramillo, Reagan Barefoot, Alaina Capps and Tori Tyndall each had a goal apiece. Alaina Capps, Ana Jaramillo and Reagan Barefoot each had one assist.

“I can’t say enough about what our five seniors have meant to this program over the course of their 4 year careers,” said Jeff Smith, Clinton’s head coach. “This group of seniors has been a part of three conference championships and 70 wins, the most in school history for a senior class,” continued Smith. “Winning the conference regular season title is important and it should give us a top three seed in the playoffs which will guarantee us at least a couple of home games.”
