Midway’s JV and Varsity volleyball squads each swept Rosewood for victories on Monday.

The JV squad swept two sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-23. Autumn Byrd had 15 service points and 11 assists on the night. Hannah Lucas had six kills for the JV team.

The varsity Lady Raiders swept three sets with scores of 25-21, 25-18, and 25-15. Amber Poole had 4 kills and 10 assists. Kelsey Pondo had 6 kills and 12 assists, and Hannah Hubbard had 8 kills. Savannah Spell, Taylor Faircloth, and Brianna Butler all had 2 blocks for MHS.

The JV record is now 2-0 and the varsity record is 2-2. Midway plays at Lakewood on Wednesday and travels to East Bladen on Thursday. This is the first time that Midway has defeated Rosewood in several years. “A team effort was made with each player that received playing time. We are excited about the win,” said Midway’s head coach Jennifer Naylor.
