After getting their first taste of winning this season on Monday afternoon, the Clinton volleyball team added another match to the win column on Tuesday with a 3 games to none win over Smithfield-Selma. The Lady Dark Horses shut out the visitors winning three straight by scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-21.


Clinton was paced by another strong effort from Francesca Jauregui with -3 digs, 2 spikes, 2 kills, and 4 aces. Also posting impressive stat lines were Elizabeth Tsao with 4 dig, 2 spikes, 2 tips and 2 aces, Jamie Jones with 2 spikes, 1 kill


and an ace, Madison Mitchell with 1 spike, 2 tips and 2 kills, and Caitlyn Perry with a dig, a spike and 2 blocks.


Coach Jennifer Edgerton commented after the game, saying, “I am proud of our effort. We continue to improve, and with the conference season starting on Thursday at Pender, we will need to capitalize on the momentum that we have gained over the past two matches.”


Tuesday’s win evens the Lady Horses’ record at 2-2 on the season. They will open Four County Conference play on Thursday when they travel to Pender.
