The Lady Leopards started conference play with a very tough win Tuesday night against Spring Creek. Spring Creek took the first set 25-8, before the Leopards took the next two sets 25-14 and 25-20. However Spring Creek was not done, coming back in the fourth set 25-16, leaving it to a fifth and final set. The Leopards took it, 15-9, to win after a very tough night of volleyball.
Some of the top players tonight were, Rashyda Parker with 19 kills, Jordan Tew, with 19 kills, Emily Lewis, with 33 assists, and Anna Heinz with 32 digs.
Lakewood started out very slow. Coach Shelia Davidson said, ” Spring Creek played very hard tonight we were fortunate to walk out win the win. This is a very tough conference and tonight showed what a battle this season will be.” Our girls worked hard tonight and that is what it will take every night.
The Leopards will be at home Wednesday night against their in-county revival, the Midway Raiders. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
