Amanda Hatcher and James Hartsfield were recently recognized with a title promotion to associate agricultural agent with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service.
Hatcher has been employed with Cooperative Extension for 10 years. Duplin Extension Director Wanda Clay states that Hatcher is providing “excellent leadership” for the livestock forage, swine and waste management program area in Duplin County. She has also served as adviser to the North Carolina Agri-Safe Grant and County Agriculture Response Team in Duplin County.
Clay also acknowledged that Amanda is the computer contact person for the Duplin County Extension Center.
Hartsfield serves as Area Farm Management agent for Duplin, and Sampson counties since 1998. His major responsibilities are to assist small farmers in developing financial documents and long-range farm improvement and sustainability planning, and enhance the small farmer family’s quality of life income by providing information and educational programs that include, but are not limited to farm management, record keeping, and appropriate technology.
