Sheriff’s investigators are on the scene of what is being called a homicide tonight, three hours after being called to a home on Sylvia Lane in reference to a shooting victim.
According to Capt. Eric Pope, officers and Emergency Service workers were called to 17 Sylvia Lane, just off Taylors Bridge Highway, at 7:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found the shooting victim. Attempts to revive the victim, he added, were unsuccessful.
No one else was injured, according to Pope.
Although the victim’s name is being withheld until all family members have been notified, the captain did say the body was that of a man.
Pope said investigators were continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses. No further information, he noted, would be released until sometime Wednesday.
“We are still processing the scene,” he stressed.
