NEWBURGH, N.Y. — Mrs. Carrie Mildred Hayes, 92, formerly of Sampson County, died on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, in St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, N.Y.
The funeral will be held at noon, on Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Ashley Chapel AME Zion Church, Ingold, with superintendent John R. Borden officiating. Burial will be in the Garland Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Hayes is survived by her two children, Glenn “Sunny” McPherson, Hope Mills, and Nathaline Woods-Cohen, Newburgh, N.Y.; a brother and sister, James Burns and Grace Burns of Hope Mills; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Summerville-Boykin Mortuary, Garland.
