What a busy week filled with celebration, educational opportunities and resources for existing or potential businesses. The Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce is honored to have the opportunity to be a part of so many aspects throughout the community that make Sampson County a great place to live, work, and play.
This week began as we celebrated with the Multi-Cultural Business Committee during the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Business Reception. During this program, we were able to celebrate with the community and recognize the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The celebration featured youth from a variety of schools throughout Sampson County that joined together to sing and rejoice as we commemorated this occasion. This was the 13th reception of the annual event and we look forward to next year’s celebration and recognition of Dr King and his dream.
The week continued as the 2012-13 Adult Leadership Participants journeyed to explore the Health and Human Services sector of the business community within Sampson County. The participants began their full day at CommWell Health followed by tours of Sampson Regional Medical Center. The afternoon continued with a visit to the Sampson County Health Department, Mary Gran and Southwood, and a tour of Sampson County Emergency Management Services. Led by committee member, Brenda Warren from Sampson Regional Medical Center Foundation, the visits of the day could not have been more educational and “eye opening” to the Health and Human Services field within our county.
The fun-filled week continued with the Small Business Summit serving as a resource to those that own or operate their own business or are thinking of starting one. This summit gives attendees the opportunity to learn of programs designed to assist a client in operations such as to start, run, or grow their business. The summit also gives the opportunity to meet with local, state, and federal organizations. What a great evening filled with educational opportunity, resource, and vision for economic growth.
This summit was brought to the community in partnership between Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce, North Carolina Lawyers for Entrepreneurs Assistance Program (NC LEAP), Small Business Center at Sampson Community College, and Sampson County Economic Development Commission. Thank you to each of the attendees and vendor participants, we look forward to learning of how this summit helped your business or organization.
