Clinton’s JV and varsity secured Senior Night wins against Northside Thursday, with the junior varsity getting the sweep — 25-11, 25-16 — and the varsity winning in four — 25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-13.
Coach Jennifer Miller touted the play of both her teams, saying they did a great job. “The JV looked really good out there, particularly the sophomores. They are looking promising for next year as they move up to varsity.”
Individually for the JV, Skyler Rose had 15 assists; Dayana Dematis, 4 kills; and Elizabeth Tsao, 4 kills.
The JV record moves to 7-13 overall and 3-10 in conference play.
In the varsity match, Clinton showed strong play throughout, Miller said. “They just played fantastic. It was senior night, and I thought the seniors really stepped it up.”
For the Lady Horses, Vivi Sarp had 17 service points, 3 kills and 10 digs; Tiandra Johnson, 9 kills; Spender Norris, 22 assists; Emily Wrench, 5 kills; Emily Green, 17 service points, 7 aces; Jordan Pietrolaj, 3 kills and 7 digs.
The varsity record moves to 9-13 overall and 4-9 in the conference. They have one final game this season Tuesday versus South Lenoir.
