The Hobbton Middle Volleyball team finished the season 10-2 after a four set victory Thursday night over visiting Roseboro-Salemburg.

“We played really well today as a team,” said Hobbton coach Chip Pollock. “We started a number of girls that didn’t see much playing time this year because we had such a solid team. The six girls that played today would be starting on any other squad I’ve coached.”

Hobbton came out strong winning the first set 25-18. “The girls were hungry to prove that they could compete with anyone and it showed,” Pollock noted.

R-S would not be denied in the second set winning it 25-21.

Hobbton closed out the match by taking the next two sets 25-18 and 25-16.

“I’m very proud of the effort put forth by the girls this year,” Pollock said. “They had a goal of winning the title, and although they fell a point short (literally), they finished with the best record in school history. That is something that should make them very proud.”

Leading the Wildcats were Summer French, Rachel West, Katlyn Ballance, Ashley Hinterleiter, Celine Marrison, and Megan Parker.
