CLINTON — Mrs. Lucille Underwood Tew, 92, of 2605 Five Bridge Road, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012.

The funeral were held at 2 p.m., Saturday at White Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Porter and the Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Born in 1919 in Sampson County, Mrs. Tew was the daughter of the late Daisy White and Esther Mae Matthews Underwood. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church and a Homemaker. She was the widow of John Everett Tew Jr.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Tew and wife, Ernestine of Clinton; three step-grandchildren, Tammie Calcutt, Cammie Carr and Renee Parker; six step-great- grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Howell Thomas Tew; and a sister, Deana Williams.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the church fellowship hall and other times at her home.
