FAYETTEVILLE — Mr. Martin Everett Strickland, 68, of 249 Ransom St., died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at his home.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with the Rev. Ed Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Rowan Baptist Church Cemetery in Clinton.

Mr. Strickland, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Albert Lee Strickland and Eutrice Susan Hunter Strickland and was the husband of Elaine Buie Strickland. He was a long distance truck driver and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Buie Strickland of the home; four children, Rebecca Allen of Fayetteville, Christina Lankford of Carthage, Tenn., Martin Strickland Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., and Marlana Strickland of Hope Mills; two brothers, Harold Strickland of Clinton and Roy Strickland of Fayetteville; a sister, Louise Thornton of Harrells; 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton and other times at the home.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3934 Sunnyside School Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312.

Arrangements are by Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville St., Clinton.
