The Midway Lady Raiders soccer team upped their record to 1-3 with a 1-0 shutout of the visiting Rosewood Lady Eagles Monday.

Farrah Jackson scored the only goal of the game on an assist by Courtney Smith. The goal came at the 16 minute mark of the first half.

“The girls are getting a little better,” remarked Midway head coach Trey Apperson. “Anytime you have a shutout, your defense has played well.”

Apperson praised the effort of Kimberly O’Brien, Dajah Jackson, Allie Apperson, Elena Castillo and Ashlyn Warren. “These girls all stepped up on defense,” declared the coach.

Coach Apperson also noted the play of goalkeepers Sam Jackson and Jerri Warren. “Both had a good game,” he stated.

The Lady Raiders will play Wallace-Rose Hill at Midway Wednesday in search of their first conference win. Last week’s game with Trask was called due to darkness and a makeup date has not yet been determined.
