Centenary UMC

Due to unforeseen events, the chicken pastry plate sale that was planned for Oct. 28 will not be held. However they will still be having their Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat beginning 3 p.m. and ending at around 5 p.m. Oct. 28. Bring the kids out for a day of fun. Luke UHC

Youth Forum, 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday Oct. 27, to discuss peer pressure, relationships, educational opportunities and other relative issues. After the forum the group will travel to Jimmy Jerome Park and join the church for a family and friends lunch and other fun activities.

The Rev. Victor Wilson will be the guest speaker for Homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 28. Services begin at 11 a.m. Sunday school starts at 9:30 a.m. Evening service will be at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Anthony Faison leading the worship. Prayer meeting at 5 p.m. and Bible study 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each Thursday.

The church family is hosting its 156th annual Homecoming celebration this Sunday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. David Grissom. The church will host a “Pancakes for Katie” fund-raising event on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 10 a.m. Katie Holland, the church’s secretary, has undergone a kidney transplant.
