A 33-year-old Sampson man was robbed Wednesday by an unknown assailant as he traveled along Hobbton Highway.
Details of the incident were not available from the Sampson County Sheriff’s office, but reports indicate the victim, Jonathan Joseph Ward of Lorrane Road, was struck by the suspect who then took items from his pocket, including cash, a driver’s license and 80 tablets of Oxycodone.
Ward was slightly injured in the attack.
Officers are searching for a suspect in the case, but have few leads. No description was provided.
Attempts to reach law enforcement about the case were unsuccessful at press time.
