Sampson Middle’s boy earned a 51-17 win Tuesday afternoon against the Union Middle Spartans, with defense being the key, their coach said, to the win.
“It was a great defensive effort from the guys,” said coach Ron Davis of his young Horses. “They all played well … they did a good job.”
Davis also praised Union, calling them a well-coached, athletic team. “They did a good job, too. Our guys just came out ready to play and took care of business.”
Zion Autry led scoring with 12 points followed by teammate Kris Williams with 7.
Sampson’s record moves to 3-0. They play again Thursday against Midway Middle.
