Union’s varsity Spartans fell on the road to the powerful Wallace-Rose-Hill Bulldogs, losing 59-32.

Wallace led from the start, and while Union kept pace in the first quarter, a poor second half, which saw them only score a total 9 points, was their demise.

“This was a good game for the first two quarters,” said Union coach Tim Pope. “For some reason, in the third quarter we could not put the ball in the basket. We had three empty trips with 2 missed layups and 2 missed free throws that made a 6-point game a 12-point game and it snowballed from there.”

Leading scorers for Union were Damarius Davis with 10 points and Justin Smith with 6.

Union travels to Trask for its next game Friday night.
