It took six months and intensive investigative work, but this week two suspected armed robbery suspects were brought back to Sampson County to face those and other felony charges.

Michael Anthony Sullivan Jr., 27, Twisted Oaks Drive, Fayetteville and Cory Simpson, 31, 186 Grove View Terrace, Fayetteville, were both taken into custody Wednesday by Cumberland County law enforcement officials and delivered to Sampson authorities who charged them in connection with the June 21 armed robbery of the Dollar General Store, 608 N.C. Hwy. 24, Roseboro.

Both are charged with one count each of second degree kidnapping, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, all felonies. In addition, Simpson was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

The two are in the Sampson County Detention Center under $100,000 bonds.

The Dollar General was robbed back in June when two suspects reportedly burst into the store brandishing weapons and demanding cash from the store clerk. The clerk attempted to open the cash drawer, but was thrown to the floor by one of the suspects, who immediately grabbed the cash register and ran out of the store.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Through investigative work in both Cumberland and Sampson counties, warrants were issued for Cory Simpson and another man, Justin Andre Epps. As the investigation developed, a woman, later identified as Megan Darleen Fuller, 25, was pegged as the female that investigators believe used a credit card reportedly stolen in the June 21 armed robbery and was caught on surveillance video doing so.

According to Sampson Detective Jay Parsons, Fuller was arrested in July and charged in connection with the Roseboro armed robbery and warrants were issued for Epps and Simpson.

It was only after Sullivan was picked up, along with Simpson, by Cumberland authorities that he, too, was linked to the Sampson armed robbery.

Epps is still being sought by law enforcement officers.

In addition to the offenses leveled against Sullivan and Simpson in Sampson, Parsons said myriad charges had been leveled against the two in Cumberland. Simpson’s bond there is in excess of $1M.

No additional details were available this weekend on Sullivan’s bond or either’s Cumberland charges.

Not much for "skreet cred" when your biggest claim to fame is robbing the Dollar General. A regular Tupac and Biggie crime wave here.
