R-S students chosen for Duke camp Two students from Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School, Sarah Wallace Strickland and Alondra Flores, have been selected to participate in the Duke University Health Careers Camp, from June 24th-28th. The students are 7th graders, Sarah Wallace Strickland and Alondra Flores. The camp is for students who have an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare. Students will get the opportunity to interact with healthcare professionals and participate in several workshops. This camp is designed to provide the students with hands on experiences in various careers in the healthcare field. There will be students from around the state participating in the camp. Canine attack on toddler under investigation
NEWTON GROVE — Sampson Sheriff’s authorities are investigating a reported canine attack that severely injured a toddler in the northern end of the county Thursday. SCC kicks off annual Giving Campaign The Sampson Community College Foundation has kicked off the 2013 Annual Giving Campaign this month with a Steak or Beans Challenge. Annual Giving Chairmen Lyman Horne and Steve Stefanovich, pictured above, are motivating their teams of Foundation directors to raise the most money to support student scholarships and program funding.
