McLamb in ‘serious’ condition after stroke
Jarvis McLamb, the longest sitting Sampson County commissioner, continues to receive treatment at a Raleigh hospital after suffering a stroke late Friday. Kelly Deis, a spokeswoman at WakeMed, said Tuesday that McLamb was listed in serious condition. Shannon Melvin was crowned Miss Greater Cape Fear Outstanding Teen at Campbell University last month. She will compete on the state level at the Miss NC Outstanding Teen in June. Those Sampson County residents with outstanding taxes will have until the end of this month to pay or have their names published, even as the Board of Equalization and Review preps to hear appeals for 2013 tax bills.
