He is a resident of Kenansville and is married to Judge Carol A. Jones. They have three children. Wilson has over 25 years of pastoral experience, serving as pastor to churches in California, New Mexico, New York and North Carolina. He is an active member of the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A., serving as a prison minstry commissioner and teacher.
